The example in this article relates to the Epson Photo XP-630 product, but the steps will be applicable to all other consumer products
A firmware update should be performed whenever it is presented in the Epson Software update tool.
Before you start, it is important to ensure that your product is powered on, connected to the PC/Mac via a USB cable and not in an error state. If these conditions are met then follow the steps below.
Click on the Product setup option and select Epson Software updater, followed by clicking on the download button.
The latest version of firmware should be presented in the list of Essential Product Updates. Select this and click on the download button
Once the firmware has downloaded, a new window will appear. Click start to continue.
Do not power off your product at any time during this process
The install process will begin, follow the onscreen instructions to continue.
Once the firmware has been successfully updated, you will receive onscreen confirmation. Please check your product’s screen too to ensure there are no error messages. Click finish to complete the update.
Please see the following article for instructions on how to resolve this issue.
Epson software updater is not available for all products. If it is not listed in under the product support page then it is likely that your product is older and so not supported by this software.
