EXPLANATION:

You will need to replace any ink cartridges that are expended. Once any expended ink cartridges are replaced and the printer has finished charging them, the printer will automatically print the faxes stored in memory.

Note:

Stylus Office BX310FN: If the printer is unable to print a fax for any reason (e.g. the printer has run out of paper during printing, there is an expended ink cartridge etc.), the Auto Answer light flashes to indicate that the printer has received a fax and stored it in memory because it was not able to print it. Once paper has been inserted/expended ink cartridges have been replaced, the printer will print the stored faxes automatically.

If the Auto Answer feature is not enabled you are able to print stored faxes using the Reprint Faxes option in the menu. To find this option power the printer on and put the printer into the Fax mode. Press Menu to enter the Fax menu, select Fax Report/Fax Setting and press Reprint Faxes/Print Report then Reprint Faxes.

Will I lose faxes stored in the printer's fax memory if the printer is turned off?

The fax memory can store up to 180 pages. However, all faxes held in memory will be erased if the printer is turned off. For some models, an error message or code may be displayed instead.

When the power is turned off, the following data stored in the product's temporary memory is erased:

  • Fax reception data
  • Data stored in Delayed Fax or Delayed Sending
  • Data being retransmitted or redialled

You will not be able to use the Reprint Faxes, Fax Log, Last Transmission/Last Transaction or Protocol Trace menu options in Fax mode as the data will have been erased.

After 13 minutes of inactivity, the screen only displays the clock to save energy. Press any button (except On) to return the screen to its previous state. Also, when the power is left off for extended periods of time, the clock may be reset causing irregularities. Check the clock when you turn the power on. If it does show the wrong time, reset the date and time in Setup > Printer Setup > Date/Time menu.
