Caution:

We recommend using genuine Epson toner cartridges. Using non-genuine consumable products may affect the operation of your printer. Epson are not liable for any damages or problems arising from the use of consumable products not manufactured or approved by Epson.

  • Be aware that during removal or cleaning, toner powder could get on to your hands, clothes or work surfaces.
  • Prepare a clean, level work surface before starting. Cover work surfaces with paper or covering to prevent unwanted toner residue.
  • You may need a dry lint-free cloth to clean the toners and any excess toner residue from the printer.
  • Do not touch the toner. Keep the toner away from your eyes. If toner gets on your skin or clothes then wash it off with soap and water immediately.
  • If toner is spilled, use a dustpan and brush or a damp cloth bathed in soap and water to clean it up immediately. The fine particles from the toner can cause a fire or explosion if they come into contact with a spark, do not use a vacuum cleaner.

Note:

When a toner has reached the end of its service life the printer will display the message Replace Toner X (where X is K for black, C for cyan, Y for yellow, or M for magenta). If none of the toners are empty then the magenta toner will always be at the front when opening the unit.

When a toner is not yet empty you may experience a warning message which states X toner low (where X is K for black, C for cyan, Y for yellow, or M for magenta). Epson recommend waiting until a cartridge is completely empty before replacing it, as the remainder of the toner can still be used.

If you require to replace the toner before it reaches the end of its service life e.g. performing a large print run without any interuptions, then this can be done by following Step 2 of this article.
