  1. I'm not able to use my older Epson printer with Windows 8. I can't find a Windows 8 inbox driver or an Epson driver. How can I use the printer with Windows 8?

    Unfortunately, your Epson printer is not supported by Windows 8.

    Note:

    Inbox driver: Inbox drivers are supplied with the operating system and can be installed via the Windows 8 "Add a printer" wizard.


  2. I connected the printer to my Windows 8 computer. The printer driver settings are very limited. How do I update the driver?

    The compatible Windows 8 inbox driver was installed. At this time, an Epson Windows 8 driver is not available for your product. Check back with Epson support periodically to see if a new Windows 8 driver is available for download.

    Note:

    If you have an older printer model, a Windows 8 printer driver may not be available in the future.

    Inbox driver: Inbox drivers are supplied with the operating system and can be installed via the Windows 8 "Add a printer" wizard.


  3. I am unable to install the printer software with the printer connected to my Windows 8 computer via USB. What should I do?

    Follow the instructions below to delete the inbox driver and install the Epson driver from the product CD or download and install from the Epson Support website:


    1. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.

    2. Right-click the Start button and click Control Panel.


    3. Click View devices and printers.


    4. Right-click the inbox driver for your Epson product and click Delete.

    5. Restart your computer.

      Note:

      Do not connect your Epson printer to your computer until advised to do so by the CD or Download installer.

      If your Epson driver CD indicates support for Windows 8, follow the instructions that came with your Epson product to install the driver and other software.

      If your Epson driver CD does not indicate support for Windows 8, do not install your Epson driver CD on your Windows 8 computer. Download and install the Windows 8 driver for your product from the Epson Support website (refer to article How to download drivers and software from the Epson website).




  4. My Windows 8 computer does not have a CD/DVD ROM drive. How do I install the printer software?

    You can download the driver software for your product from the Epson Support website.

    Refer to article How to download drivers and software from the Epson website for full instructions on downloading and installing drivers and software.


  5. My Windows 8 computer doesn't install the inbox driver for my printer. What should I do?

    To install the inbox driver for your Epson product, do the following:


    1. Power on your product and make sure it is connected to your Windows 8 computer.

    2. Power on your Windows 8 Computer.

    3. Right-click the Start button and then click Control Panel.

    4. Click View devices and printers.


    5. Click Add a printer.


    6. If your printer does not appear in the printer list, click The printer that I want isn't listed.


    7. Choose Add a local printer or network with manual settings as your connection type.


    8. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.



  6. How do I know if I'm using a 32-bit or 64-bit edition of Windows 8?

    To find out which version of Windows 8 you're using, do the following:


    1. Power on your Windows 8 computer.

    2. Right-click the Start button and click Control Panel.


    3. Click System and Security.


    4. Click System.


    5. Your System type is confirmed as shown below.




  7. I connected the printer to my Windows 8 system but the printer driver did not install. What should I do?

    If your printer has a Windows 8 inbox driver, follow the instructions below to install the driver manually:


    1. Power on your printer and make sure it is connected to your Windows 8 computer.

    2. Power on your Windows 8 Computer.

    3. Right-click the Start button and then click Control Panel.

    4. Click View devices and printers.


    5. Click Add a printer.


    6. If your printer does not appear in the printer list, click The printer that I want isn't listed.


    7. Choose Add a local printer or network with manual settings as your connection type.


    8. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.



  8. How do I update my Windows 8 system through Windows Update?

    To update your Windows 8 computer, do the following:


    1. Power on your Windows 8 computer.

    2. Right-click the Start button and then click Control Panel.


    3. Click System and Security.


    4. Click System.


    5. Click Windows Update to update your Windows 8 computer.




  9. My Epson product software is missing after upgrading to the Windows 8 operating system. What is wrong?

    The Windows 8 upgrade process uninstalls any previously installed Epson product software. You will need to download your Epson product's software from the Epson Support website.
