Why do I receive an error message when attempting to install an Epson driver/software on macOS/Mac OS X

When installing a product driver or bundled piece of software in Mac OS X/ macOS, you may receive one of the error messages below:

This issue occurs because the driver or software is not digitally re-signed for recognition by Gatekeeper.

Note:

First check the Epson Website to see if a new driver/software pack is available.

If a new version was released after October 2014 or later it should not experiance this issue.


Select your operating system below:

Mac OS X 10.7.3 - Mac OS X 10.10.5

  1. Right click the icon and select Open

  2. Click Open in the dialog box. If prompted, enter your administrator name and password.

Mac OS X 10.11 or Higher

  1. Double click the app icon
  2. Click OK

  3. Click the Apple Icon
  4. Click System Preferances

  5. Click Security & Privacy

  6. Click Open Anyway

  7. A new pop up box will display, click Open
